Just Enough!

Happy Monday Cincinnati!

It’s the day before election day and I don’t know about you, but it seems like with all the mailers I get from our candidates lining my recycling bin we have gone way overboard!

On another note. I wanted to touch on “Just Enough”.

This is a project we completed earlier in the year for a wonderful couple that needed an extension to their roof to cover the entrance to the basement as leaves and debris would collect at the bottom of the stairwell, and often cause the drain to back up. They also needed just the right amount of extension to their roof to give them shade in the afternoons when they like to sit out in the back yard together (and escape political ads on TV no doubt). Quite often, we get to make really fun customizations to homes that make home an even more special place to be!

Make it a great day Cincinnati!

The Cost of Doing Business.

Hey Cincinnati! Happy Early Fall!😁

I know sometimes people think I’m just a little too happy about that!

Let’s talk for a moment about the cost of doing business. Sometimes when we present people with one of our Comprehensive Project Evaluations they are a bit shocked at all the steps required to perform a seemingly simple operation such as the replacing a porch as pictured above.

We often joke with our clients that simple and easy are two different things. Like any professional our crews make thinks look easy, but that level of performance comes on the backside of nothing but time and miles in the trade.

Just know Cincinnati that we are excited to serve you, no matter how many steps it takes!

What’s The Process?

What’s The Process?

Hey Cincinnati!

Happy Friday to everyone! What a great day to answer another question that so many of the people we talk to want to know:

What’s The Process??

Well, glad you asked! This is a document we developed to answer just that. Anyone who is good at their job knows that if you have a process and repeat it often things only get better. This is just a peek at one of our processes that we would share with you during an in home consultation.

Thanks for stopping by, make it a great weekend Cincinnati!

Go Away!

Hello Cincinnati!
This is the season where many of us want to get away from it all for a bit. We joke around here at Biehl Brothers HQ, that sometimes getting away and doing nothing is EVERYTHING you need it to be! We hope that you remember to take some time out this season to stop and enjoy life a little.
We are already halfway into summer, so don’t wait!

Custom VS Direct Replacement Remodeling Part III

Welcome back Cincinnati, for our final installment

Now let’s talk about the custom remodeling option. I not a motorcycle guy, but I’m pretty sure that amazing machine you see above didn’t start off on any manufacturer’s assembly line. Custom remodeling is just that, your project is a “one off”. That means we need to dig a bit deeper. Typically, a custom renovation (if we are still talking about kitchens here), means that we may be removing walls, cutting new and/or bigger opening for doors and windows. When those types of alterations are in the scope it almost always calls for relocation of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems in addition to work in adjacent spaces. We quite often see custom kitchen renovations affecting the entire level they are located on, so it’s gone way beyond a kitchen renovation at that point.
We hope that whatever you’re considering, you’ll give us a call. We’d be honored to serve you!

Will I see the owner??

biehl brothers contracting owners

Many people who are considering a home renovation will often interview several contractors and get several quotes.   If you’re lucky, you’ll interview several people that impress you and you would feel comfortable leaving your home to.  That can really make for a difficult decision.

We are here to help!  We are going to make several posts on this topic.  Here’s numero uno:

Ask your contractor, “will I see the owner?”.  Now there are owner operators out there, and of course for them, the owner is on every job.  Perhaps that’s a good fit for you.  If your looking at a larger organization, that answer may change.  Part of our culture here at Biehl Brothers is that every week (typically Wednesday) is owner job check day.

We feel strongly about checking on your project every week.  Why you ask?  Well, that’s a two part answer.  We want to make certain you as the client are happy and informed, and we were blessed to be able to hire a team of folks we like spending time with.  We like to make sure they are happy too!

It’s just who we are.
